The Four 20s

Was on Emergency Leave, MC... take your pick, today.

THE LENSES... THEY DO NOTHING.

Put on the right side of my contact lens and they was a very sharp pain. Took it out and part of it felt like it's still in my eye.

Went to see our eye specialist doctor. He said I haven't had a check up since 2002. Didn't realise it was that long ago.

"OPTIC BLAST!.... OPTIC BLAST!"

Other than checking for foreign objects, he did a power check as well. Still no x-ray vision or eye beams. Damn it.

So nothing was/is in my eye and it seems to be fine. Just a bit dry. Told doc the past few days it had been red a bit and he said it could most probably be because of the haze.

4x20

And since I've been working (or not) in front of the computer most of the time, he introduced me the very important Four 20s:

1) Rest after 20 minutes of looking at the screen.
2) Rest for 20 seconds.
3) Don't look at the screen, look at far away, preferably objects that are 20 feet away.
4) Blink 20 times.

Also, don't let the air-cond and let it blow directly to the face. Eyes gets dry fast that way.

Oh and having 7 hours of sleep is very important. As when we sleeps, the tear glands would fill up and moisturises the eye. Dad thanked him for that advised but added whether I would listen or not is another different matter.

Explained to doc that I can't sleep too early as I would wake up in the middle of the night. It would then takes me a while to sleep back. And because of the interrupted sleep, I would feel worst the next day.

He suggested me to jog in the evening, then perhaps I would be tired and sleep better. But if I'm tired, wouldn't I sleep earlier and the result would be the same.

So, we'll see how.

Song of The Moment: Updated

Link by L'Arc~En~Ciel

Opening theme to FullMetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shamballa.

Love the drums on this one. One of those songs that just give you that nostalgia feeling.

ARGH.

Going to be very busy at work for the next couple of weeks. For the first two weeks of August, it might not be convenient to chat on the messengers.

Sorry, can't tell much. Just needed to vent, whatever that can be vent.

A Match Made In Heaven

S: "You both don't even have any similiarities in your looks. How to fight?"

Me: "With my dashing good looks lah"

You see, S have this theory that a couple would be happily married together if they have that couple-husband-wife look.

"THAT'S HOGWASH!"

... So, I told her.

S: "Look at Ekin Cheng and Maggie Siu. They were together for quite a long time and then they broke up. They don't look like they were made for each other."

Me: "...."

S: "And look at him and Gigi. They broke up too."

I think she's just narrow minded. If everyone would be looking for their better half that look similiar to themselves... they would be in love with themselves, their relections, their clone or their closely related relatives. Eeekk...

INCEST!!!

I've seen plenty of couples who didn't look quite one bit like each other... other than the obvious physical traits like oh say, a mouth, eyes, nose... they are still happily married to each other for god dang centuries. Okay, maybe not that long.

Sure! Which couple doesn't like to be praised by others that they look like they are a "match made in heaven"?... but that's just it. You just feel nice about it. In the end, it's all about the chemistry, the understanding, the... you get the idea.

First Day At New Area

It was quite funny actually. People over that side who discovered new people at new cubicles AKA us seems to find us something like an animal in a cage at the Zoo. They keep staring.

When breakfast came, colleagues went to get em. More and more people came to gather around the food.

One of the bosses came to welcome us to the floor. LOL! As if we are some kind of aliens "Welcome to Earth!". But seriously, that was very kind of her. Others didn't do anything but stare. Maybe I should fling feces at them.

When Singularity came in, she saw me and proceeded to bug me, asking me the usual questions like, why? what happened blablabla and I gave her the usual stupid answers.

The scenary was indeed good.

Oh yeah, actually I've asked S to take a pic of me at the new place on Sunday, though messy, but the pic is actually focus on me and not the place... but she doesn't know how to download it to the pc -_-". Asked her to bring whatever cable that came with her phone when she bought it and I"ll figure something out.

New desk/cubicle/area is a bit cramp, but I think we will have to just get use to it. But where am I suppose to put all the files and folders? Sigh.

Relocation.... Done!

Recently heard the scenary will improve somemore.

The so called just going to the office, setup the PC and just do some testing in which suppose to last the most for 2 hours ended up until 3pm.

Suddenly not much mood to type. Will update this post later. Tired.

Updated:

The plan was like this, we pack up our stuff on Friday and they will dismantle our cubicle and reassemble it at the very same place with more cubicles. The place that we will be moved to, the cubicles are not up yet. Everything should be finished by Saturday. Sunday we would just come in, set up our pcs, test the network and phone line and then we can go home.

Things never go according to plan do they? Especially it's World Cup season. When we came in at around 10am, the cubicles are up, but there's no power. Phone lines are dead. Called up various people including Dai Kar Cher and they say the technicians would be on their way.

On their way seems to be the popular word. Had to wait till 3pm. Got nothing to do but walk around, looking at people's cubicles and stuff. Some people really made it like as if it's their mini home. I wouldn't dare bring so much stuff. -.-"

Anyway, by around 3:30pm... all testings were done. Me, alone. What about the colleagues? All have "appointments" (most probably their bed or tv) and they have to leave early.

Rangers Strike! TCG

A few weeks back, I was browsing through Jeremy's Hyper Hobby magazine July issue. It came with a special Rangers Strike trading card game (TGC) booklet.

The booklet showed a complete list of second series booster pack cards. It also explained the rules of playing the game in Japanese of course. It introduced the artists who did the art for the cards. "Holy crap", I thought... "The art look damn cool!".

Since Jeremy only buy Hyper Hobby as a catalouge of some sorts, he gave me the booklet. I couldn't accept it at first, until he said "You better take it or I will just throw it away."

-.-" DAMN RICH LAH YOU NOW...

Took it back and look through it somemore.... that folks, is how the seeds of hunting down the cards are sowed. Damn.

Since my brother also have been collecting some Magic: The Gathering and D&D card games, I was blabbing away how cool the art on the cards are.

Recently found the cards selling at Jusco. At first only spotted the series 1 and series 2 booster packs. "Hhhmm, no start don't want to buy lah. Can't complete the collection also.".. until a few days later I found the starter decks hinding in a corner of the display shelf.

"SHIT."

Last thursday, bought them:

Go Go Power Rangers

From left to right: Series 1 Starter Deck, Series 1 Booster pack and Series 2 Booster pack.

In the starter deck itself, you would get a few duplicates. Since this is a TRADING card game, I think they purposely gave you some duplicates to start trading off with your fellow collectors.

SHINY SHINY

I got a special card and a duplicate of it. One's from the starter deck and the other from the series 1 booster. I think it's special, since it's shinier than the rest.

Some of the cards. Click for the big version:

31 - 40

31 - 40

The damn booklet. Heheh:

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
Front cover.

Deka! Deka! Deka!
Back cover.

And I'm even not a big fan of the show! Ok, I've watched the first and second season of the US version... and the movie. But that was it. Some of the design of the suits were quite appealing, like Dekarangers and Boukangers. But I didn't bother to download them to watch. But the art on the cards are quite cool. To me lah.

The official site for the TGC: http://www.carddas.com/rangers/

If they come out with a Kamen Riders version, I die lah.

Bro's Partner's Wedding Dinner

Just came back.

The wedding dinner was more normal. Compared to God Bro's.

Food sucks though. Why all wedding dinner's food sucks? Food doesn't have much taste. Drinks felt diluted. If I'm the bride or bridegroom, my expression after tasting them would be "I PAID FOR THIS SHIT??!". Anyway, they had it at Dyn*a*sty Hotel.

Interesting highlights would be they have a live band performing. That's because my bro's partner, who's the bridegroom who's also in a band and they played for him. First song they did was a song that the bridgegroom wrote for the bride. Basically sings about I-love-you-always-end-of-the-world-still-with-you-blablabla. It's a nice touch though. Even though you've seen it in movies, but this is happening right in front of you. Nice. They even invited some of their friends to go up on stage to sing. Even the bride. And then they did a duet.

Ok lah, nothing much to blog about. No leng luis also.
