Basic First Aid Results Update.

All we know now is everyone passed their exam.

I wonder what they will give. I heard someone said they give some kind of card that says you are certifide to give first aid or something.

I need to go get some book to read up.

Basic First Aid Results?

Still not out yet.

A few days after the training, the organizer received some additional 3MB materials and emailed it to us.

Saw it while at off site, but didn't really have time to email to ask him about the results.

So, I did on Friday. He said he hasn't received any news yet and he was quite tied up with work to ask.

Hmmm, the papers are not marked yet? Whatever happened to "I only sleep 2 hours a day so I can have more time to do things?"?

Basic First Aid Training Day 2

Yaaaaaaa! Finally finished the training.

Morning was further training, bandaging, practice and revision.

After lunch, we had our exams. I wouldn't say I do very well in my written exam (objective & subjective), but I think I would at least pass it.

The trainner/examiner said everyone passed our practical CPR. So, at least there covered a lot of points.

We did some scenario handling as well, but I am not sure how is that going to be graded, or he just want us to see us making a full out of ourselves.

"It was just a flesh wound."

Scenario handling is where we were split into 2 groups, and there are 4 of us. 1 team would be those who would apply first aid, and the other, 3 of em acting as the victim's friends.

Guess who get to act as the victim?

"Check out my manly scar!"

The trainer brough some fake looking wounds to stick on to the victim, so we would have to try to identify what kind of wounds are they, and apply the suitable treatment for it.

"Is that your open fracture, or are you just happy to see me?"

Of course, all did not go well with both teams, since we did not have any real experience with it.

Hopefully I pass everything and get the cert.

Next year would have a chance to play with fire extinguishers. Hopefully that will be on.

Basic First Aid Training

Full day training today. Have to get up early on a Saturday morning.

There's suppose to be 10 of us but 2 got abducted by aliens. I wonder they would have to pay for the training, since, they confirmed it, and it's not cheap in the first place?

It was actually pretty interesting. For practical, we learned CPR and how to tie a knot for a sling bandage. And also how to put someone into a recovery position.

Leah Dizon

Oops. Wrong pic.

Recovery position

It's actually very comfortable lying down in this position. If you have trouble sleeping, try it.

CPR is not as easy as you think. It's actually very tiring. And yeah, you might actually get yourself into trouble if you are not doing it right. I'm not talking about getting someone killed.

So, anyways, next one's on the 6th. We would have more practical training on that day and then exams for certification.

How many people can say they know CPR?

3 Day Training

Had to go for some process training at one of our Evil Empire's office at somewhere near KL Towers.

It's not that I have problem following the process... I was sent for it as we need to be "properly" certified for the process.

I wasn't exactly sure where was the building, but I do know that it's nearby KL Towers. Sunday I had googled up the nearest LRT station to KL Towers and it came up with Dang Wangi. Sounds like it shouldn't be hard to find.

So, woke up early, cramp myself into the LRT and finally reached Dang Wangi. Uh oh, which way should I take? I asked the LRT staff and they said to go to the so and so building should get off at the Masjid Jamek station. OH SHI-

Wait hold it, no problem... I"ll just hopped on the next LRT train and get back to the previous stop.

Reached there.. urm... I can't see KL Towers. Decided to call up one of the offsite colleagues to see if she knows how to get to the so and so building from the Masjid Jamek station. Her phone rang a few times and not even once it was picked up. Later I learned that she had turn it to silent mode and has left it in her backpack. $%^|+!!!!

The training starts at 9am. It's 8:40am now. Ok, don't panic. Can always ask people for directions. Just when a guy decided to ask for directions, these are the answer I got:

*blanks stares*
"Dunno la"
"Got such place ah?
"Sana!" *points at God knows where and runs off*.

8:45am. Maybe I am going to be late after all. Wait, wait, it's supposely still near KL towers right? Can't really see KL Towers as there are some tall buildings here blocking the view. And, I know the so and so building is at some King's street... all I have to do is walk around to get a good view of KL Towers, walk to the direction and find the street and it should lead me to the place. Unless, of course I am Bad Luck Opposite Direction Bipolar Guy.

Anyway, manage to find the place in less than 15 minutes. Went up, sat down and waited. 9:15am and the trainer's still not here. Learned that the Australian trainer's flight was delayed and he will be in later at around noon and the training will start at 1pm.... Orz

Backup At The Two Towers

Haaaahhh... nothing much actually. Quite boring actually.

The agent did not introduce me to the so called goreng pisang. Why? Dunno. Maybe goreng pisang was unavailable or all sold out or something.

Anyway, on the last Thursday, that day itself, it was pretty boring. Had to reach the office there by 7:30am, in which is damn early. But there weren't many people in the office at that time. Maybe it was one of those just in case anything happens, someone has to be on the standby.

Did I mentioned it was very boring? Since I'm using someone else's PC, I can't surf anywhere (blogs especially) and had to use Web MSN. Siiiiigghh...

But the washrooms were damn good though. It's clean, auto flush and all. Aaahhhh....

One of the perks of working near KLCC is that, during lunch time, you can go to KLCC to have a walk or shopping, etc. Followed colleagues to KLCC after lunch as one of them wanted to buy some shirts and pants. One of them has sworn off ironing his clothes so he's looking for some iron free clothes. That"ll be costly. -_-"

After lunch then it's bored all over again. Had dinner with colleagues in the evening as some of them are transfered/resigned. Dinner at Chicken Hartz. And that's the nite that I did something that got me "kena scolded". Haahaha, think back also want to laugh. Will update the post some other time. Want to go to sleep already. Ja!

Back Up And.... Goreng Pisang??

Yay, can play hokey tomorrow! ;P

When I just got back on Monday, manager told me I had to go to The Two Towers on this Thursday to back up an agent over there as she will be on leave.

Today, she told me I have to go there tomorrow for a few hours to learn up from the agent. I wanted to suggest that to her actually but she beat me to it. Things runs differently over there so definitely there is a need to familarise with it. Such a short period of time. The bright side: Can check out chicks.

Spoke to the agent on the phone. She told me there's a cun(hot, pretty, etc.) chick she can introduce to me. I asked her "How cun?", she says like "goreng pisang(Chinese Fried Banana)". I wasn't familiar with the analogy so I replied with a "Huh!?". "You know, when you've just fried a goreng pisang, it's hot and everyone wants that piece." she explained. Hooookay.

So, after lunch I"ll go there. Maybe can get lost in some shopping department then get lost in some big Japanese book store.
DISCLAIMER: The above paragraph is a work of fiction. I'm actually a hardworking dude!

Oh yeah, my parents can fry some mean butt kicking goreng pisangs.
