While on leave last Friday, on MSN messenger, S told me that some group of people are moving in to our floor: at the cubicles beside ours.
Came back to work this Monday and kind of got a shock seeing so many people sitting there. It used to be just a handful of people only you see. My Team and two "exiled" agents from the other team next door.
Suddenly. Helpdesk Agents. Thousands of them!Ok, that's just over-exagerating.
Long time ago, the cubicles were occupied by some agents who supports Japanese customers. They were quieter. More... normal.
These new group of people who just moved in from God knows where. are also helpdesk agents. Supporting some other company. Making calls out, receiving calls... oh, yelling accross cubicles.
Talking aloud to someone who's seated next to you or behind you is alright. But shouting to someone who's two rows accross?.....
"I guess it's official now. This place has turned into a wet market."It used to be cold. It used to be like a tomb. It used to be quiet. Just the way I like it. Well, it's quiet until one of the "exiled" agents open her mouth and shrieks like a banshee... on crack.
I used to complain to S about that banshee on crack's annoyance. She's all quiet when alone but whenever one of her team member comes over... hooo boy, cover your ears ladies and gentlemen >_<. It's not just the volume. It's also the tone and the pitch. How do you tell such people off? "Just don't open your mouth" is definitely rude.
Now, it's just constant noise. Didn't get enough sleep on Sunday night just made it worst. Felt like want to vomit and head's about to explode.
"...."Actually, now I've gotten more used to it. Just can't stand people yelling accross the room. I mean come on, someone could be on the phone, trying to listen to what the customer is saying. Or maybe it's just me. Need to re-learn on how to focus on a single source of noise.
Let's hope I don't go ape shit on everyone.
