Fantastic Four
Saw Fantastic Four today.
By now I'm sure everyone knows what's it about. Adapted from the Marvel comic with the same title "Fantastic Four", about four individuals who went up to space, was exposed to cosmic rays and developed fantastic powers.
Acting was above average. Two actors that shined better than the others: Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm aka The Thing and Ioan Gruffudd as Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic.
I like how they didn't have an all CG for The Thing. The "suit" looks pretty convincing, though some scenes they added CG for the movements of his rocky body looks pretty fake.
Soundtrack is blargh. Pretty bad. The music goes on and on and it was so annoying.
The movie's actually pretty draggy. I guess they wanted to introduce and establish the characters. But scene after scene, it just got me thinking "Fight already!".
Fight scenes were pretty tame. I guess when you have people with powers that can crush you like a bug, burn your @$$ off; you would have to have a near indestructible villian to fight with.
Wished they use the original comic origin for Doom, but I guess that would drag the movie even longer.
The verdict? I wanted to say that it sucks, but it doesn't entirely. It was ok. It has it's entertaining moments. Cheese at it's entertaining best.
