"Can I Try That?"

While having lunch with S today at KFC, we were sitting on a table which could seat 6 people.

S thought we were being selfish. I told her that if anyone needed the seats they would say something about it. And then, we can just let them have it.

Some old guy came in with a crutch and went to the sink to wash his hand or something. Then he came to our table, asking if he could take a seat and rest. Old already can't walk or something. Of course we let him.

Then he started talking to us. Asking how much does a meal cost and stuff. We gladfully answered him.

Then this is where it gets weird, he started asking us how does it taste like and stuff... is it too hard for an old person, he's got dentures and blablabla. We told him it's not too bad.

He started asking for a tiny piece to try. I cut out one but he complained it's too big. Cut a smaller piece and he took it.

"Mm, yes, can can... not too hard. Can I try a bigger piece?"

Gave him one more.

*chew chew* *COUGH! COUGH* Faced all red, "It's kinda spicy."

HAHAaahaha :P, told him it's curry falvoured. Asked him if he needs a drink to wash it down. He looks around awhile and just shook his head, indicating "No".

Then he started to eye on S's meal and started with his usual interrogation. S's potato wedges caught his attention. He asked for a small piece. Left 2 pieces. S gave him all. We're almost finished with our lunch.

"Mmm! Mmm! These are good, very soft."

After finishing our lunch and washed our hands we went off. He thank us for the free meal. His exact words. We were both -_-" and "....".

While on the way back to the office on the bus, S said dunno if that "uncle" really never had KFC before, or just looking for a free meal.

Me: "If it really bothers you, whenever we are here, we can drop by and see if he's sitting with some people and asking for food."

S: "Told you we shouldn't take up so many seats."

Me: "Well, we could do the split and take up 3 seats on one side."

S:" "You can or not? Afterwards your hips bones break leh!"

Me: "I think my pants would break first before my bones."

I dunno, maybe I am mean and selfish. But it felt like someone just took advantage of us.

this is the first time i'm hearing ppl asking for "free" food like this.

usually their MO is to approach u while ur in the queue & ask for a little "sponsorship" for a meal.

they're getting more creative by the day, eh? :)
